Courageux Coeur

– Generations of Greatness
Sire Line: Coeur de Bella Donna
Courageux Coeur is by Coeur de Bella Donna, a stallion who combines Cornet Obolensky and Olympic mare Bella Donna – bringing together some of the most performance-proven bloodlines in modern sport horse breeding.
- Cornet Obolensky dominated both sport and breeding. A European Champion with Marco Kutscher and an Olympic contender in 2008, he sired numerous top horses including Comme il faut, Cornado NRW, Cornet d'Amour, Clooney, and Balou du Reventon.
- Bella Donna, ridden by Meredith Michaels-Beerbaum, became a global star and Olympic finalist at just 9 years old. She earned nearly €700,000 before being sold to Qatar, where she continued her 1.60 m career.
- Baldini II, her sire, was a competitive S-level athlete known for his strong will.
- Calido, in the third generation, is one of the most successful jumping sires of all time, with over 360 S-level offspring and 84 licensed sons.
- Calypso II, in the fourth generation, is a foundational sire in Holstein – widely known for passing on rideability and technique.
Coeur de Bella Donna descends from the renowned Holstein damline 7126, which also produced Acobat I–III, Acord I–III, and Burggraaf, as well as 5* jumpers like Crown, Fruselli, USA Today, and Glock's Zaranza.
Dam Line: Quaprice – A Pedigree of International Excellence
Courageux Coeur's dam Quaprice carries some of the most sought-after genetics in European showjumping: Quidam de Revel, Calypso II, and Graphit.
- Quidam de Revel – Olympic bronze medallist and legendary sire – was a top-class athlete with over 30 licensed sons in Germany alone and countless GP offspring known for scope, carefulness, and great character.
- Calypso II, again featured here, brought Cor de la Bryère blood into the Hanoverian breed, setting a new standard for rideability and jumping quality. He also sired Contender, one of the most influential stallions in modern history.
- Graphit, in the third generation, was a key sire in both jumping and dressage. He sired Grannus and Grundstein, with the latter becoming one of the leading dressage sires worldwide.
