A Lifelong Passion for Horses

Horses have always been a part of who I am.

My name is Trine Green. I was born in 1974 and am the mother of Anna and Ida, born in 2003 and 2005 respectively. From the time they were little, I have shared my passion for horses with them. Horses have always been a natural and indispensable part of my life.

I am a qualified nurse and work at Aabenraa Hospital in Southern Jutland, Denmark. I love my work, but horses hold a very special place in my life. To me, they are far more than a hobby; they are a passion that has accompanied me through every stage of my life.

My interest in horses began when I was just ten years old. I grew up surrounded by horses, as both my uncles owned riding schools. Along with my cousins, I spent countless hours in the saddle, laying the foundations for my lifelong love of horses.

At the age of fourteen, I got my first pony, Duchesse. She was a talented show-jumping pony, and together we competed in numerous competitions. We progressed to classes over 120 cm, and she became a very special part of my youth.

After Duchesse, I got Helios, a horse with predominantly dressage bloodlines who turned out to be a fantastic show jumper. Together, we reached the 130 cm classes and created many wonderful memories.

Sadly, I lost both horses. After saying goodbye to two horses who had meant so much to me, it was difficult to find my way back to competing. But my love for horses never disappeared.

Since becoming a mother, I have not competed very much. Instead, I have had the joy of sharing my passion with Anna and Ida and allowing horses to remain a natural part of our lives.

Over time, it has become clear to me that horses are more than an interest. They are part of my DNA. Quite simply, I do not feel complete without them.

A Passion That Became My Everyday Life.

In 2017, I moved to Southern Jutland. A new chapter in my life began, and I met Jens Kvist, who would have a profound influence on me and my journey with horses.

Our shared interest in horses and breeding marked the beginning of a journey I could never have imagined beforehand. Jens shared his extensive knowledge and experience with me and inspired me to discover new possibilities within horse breeding.

Sadly, Jens was diagnosed with cancer and passed away in 2021. Our time together was far too short, but he left a lasting mark on my life. I am grateful for everything he taught me and for the courage he gave me to follow my passion.

Today, I have bought my own farm in Southern Jutland, where I have created the setting for my life with horses. Here, my work as a nurse comes together with the everyday life I cherish, with horses at the heart of it all.

Combining a full-time job with the responsibility of running a farm and caring for a group of horses requires time, commitment, perseverance and the support of those closest to me. It is a lifestyle I have chosen because it brings me joy and a sense of purpose.

Horses have accompanied me from childhood rides and competitions in my youth to adulthood, motherhood and my life as a breeder today. They have been a constant presence through both joy and loss.

To me, horses are more than a passion. They are part of my story, my everyday life and who I am.
